Orientation

Franklin’s Orientation program is an important opportunity for new students to make friends and begin their time at Franklin. The program includes informational, cultural, and social sessions that we hope will help students and their families get a solid start as members of the Franklin family. Participants will meet the administration, faculty, staff, and students; tour the campus and the surrounding area; and share their first meals with new friends and classmates. Orientation provides a memorable introduction to one's student experience and the exciting, multicultural Franklin community.

Franklin staff are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and are carefully considering options for welcoming and preparing new students for the fall semester. We continue to receive new information on a daily basis about COVID-19 and how Swiss and local authorities plan to manage public health and safety. The Office of Student Life will post updated arrival information and Orientation schedules as they are available. Over the coming months, please visit this page to learn more about how we plan to welcome new students and their families this year. We look forward to meeting you and to helping you have as safe and healthy of a start as possible!

A sample schedule is available so students can get an idea of what Orientation typically entails. For more information, please e-mail Ebonie Rayford from the Office of Student Life.

Tutte Le Strade

Tutte Le Strade is a program which occurs during the first half of the fall semester at Franklin. The events aim to integrate students into their experiences as Franklin students, Lugano, and student life on campus. Some of the events include an annual talk about Swiss history and what makes it unique, visits to nearby towns, and academic workshops coordinated by the Writing and Learning Center.
