Vera Dianova obtained her Ph.D. in Monetary Economics from the University of Fribourg in 2018 and has been teaching Macroeconomics, Microeconomics and Economics of the European Union at Franklin University Switzerland since January 2020. Her current research involves a theoretical and empirical investigation into the impact of central bank interest rate and balance sheet policies on financial markets and the real economy, with an emphasis on consequent economic growth and labor market dynamics, as well as wealth and income distribution. She has contributed to a number of encyclopedia entries on monetary policy-related topics and has been invited to deliver her Ph.D. research findings to an audience of portfolio and relationship managers at Credit Suisse, Switzerland.

Professor Dianova began her professional career in the London finance industry, working as an economist, deputy portfolio manager, and credit analyst for a private bank. Prior to this, she led the design and elaboration of an innovative execution and settlements process for over-the-counter financial instruments at an American hedge fund. She has also worked as an economist trainee for the Group of Policy Advisors of the European Commission in Brussels.
